RULES

1. The event is played over 36 holes (foursomes in the morning and fourball better-ball in the afternoon) under normal matchplay conditions - one point awarded for winning your match, half if you half and nothing if you lose. See below for explanation of the exact format of the competition.

2. The team with the most points over two rounds will be the winners. If there are teams tied on points then "difference" will seperate teams to decide final places.

3. Teams must consist of 8 players only.

4. Handicaps must be agreed by all the Captains before the tournament starts - it will be too late to dispute anything once the event starts.

5. The tournament director's decision is final on all matters.

FORMAT OF THE EVENT

Normal matchplay competition but a system has been devised whereby all the teams involved can definitely be placed.........each match result will give each team a 'points difference', if you win 4&3 you have a difference of +4, if you lose 2 down you have a difference of -2 etc.   So after all four morning matches are complete you will be able to add up the total from all matches to give you your team's goal difference so you know where you stand before heading out for the afternoon's rounds (the same rule obviously applies to the afternoon matches as well). At the end of the day you add up all your points and then all your team's goal difference to get your final standings. Remember, the most important thing is to win your match...and win it as comprehensively as possible!
